The fan and stove!

I'm hanging my tools in the ceiling over the kitchen centerpiece. There are pots, colianders, baskets, cakestands, buckets and all sorts of things I've collected over the years. I've let a blacksmith tailormade the hanger for me. The kitchen fan comes from ILVE and big stove from Italian Smeg.

Hanging!

I collect classic French porcelain like these soup bowls from Pillivuyt. Hooks in the shelves is also a clever way to hang the stuff you use frequently or find attractive. It is easy to transform your kitchen with wallpaper which is great if you're like me and want to redecorate the kitchen often ...

In the middle...

Nowadays it is possible to have self-closing hinges on the most, even old-fashioned carpentry built kitchen. In my kitchen centerpiece it will fit a lot stuff so it is a really convenient storage. Below, I have all my pots, oven dishes and large plates.

Profile on the bench ...

An open shelf is a nice at the end of the bench instead of an cabinet. The open shelf can easily transform your kitchen with the stuff you choose to keep there. To create a classic style in the kitchen I made a good-looking "profile" on the countertop of carerra marble.

Space in the kitchen

When I build a kitchen, there are a few things of importants to me. Like, you should have plenty of work surfaces. It should be close to the water from the stove. I prefer to have open shelves instead of a cupboard because I'll get more "space and athmosfer" in the kitchen and it's nice to not get the cabinet doors in your head all the time!

Storage

After a long wall, I built a serving cabinet where I keep most of my china. The prototype was an old Danish cabinet with the jagged edge on the shelves. I put a wood paneling in the back of the cabinet in order to vary it in different colors. I paint the back in pink or a dark grey and sim-sala-bim the cabinet has completely changed in character without the wole furniture need repainting.

Tiles!

Cream colored tiles from Fired Earth, which is set without any space. I've never been a big fan of big tile joints. If you put the tiles conected to each other, it will be quite enough with joints anyway. Kitchen marble of Carerra is manufactured by the company "Rask Sten" in Mölnbo, Sweden.

Water is everthing...

The little sink is placed near the stove so that it's easy to fill up water when needed. I think plants, flowers and herbs are important in a kitchen to give life. Rosemary trees and olive trees are my favorites on the kitchen counter. The old kitchen scale is a bargin from a flea market.
